Windows xp delete downloaded installations
I did this, and after stopping the updates service, the icon disappears from the system tray. After rebooting, or restarting the service, the icon reappears, and they are the same updates. Any advice would be appreciated. I had the same problem, and I am really annoyed by it. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks a lot. I had a client with many viruses that disabled Windows Update and had corrupted already downloaded updates.
With this tip I was able to clear the downloaded information and re-run windows Update to re-download the files. I followed directions and icon does NOT go away.
I rebooted and icon does NOT go away. Any other suggestions to get rid of this reminder icon? Thank you very much.
