Windows xp delete downloaded installations

I did this, and after stopping the updates service, the icon disappears from the system tray. After rebooting, or restarting the service, the icon reappears, and they are the same updates. With this tip I was able to clear the downloaded information and re-run windows Update to re-download the files. I followed directions and icon does NOT go away.

Just use the media that you have XP on and install as it will overwrite when you select the location on the hard drive just delete all of the partitions and it will do a clean install of XP not sure if it will still activate as Microsoft doesn't support XP anymore.
